I Get by With a Little Help From My Friends

Welcome to 4.30 & Beyond!  A bit about what we’re doing here and some quick introductions!

The idea for this blog was born last week, when I posted Part Deux of my New Year’s Resolutions. Like everyone and their uncle, I want to lose weight, get healthy, blah blah blah. And I had no idea how to do it right and make it last. So I asked! And you responded!

This blog community is such an amazing resource when advice is needed. Not only did I get great advice, but I got all kinds of support and encouragement and then a couple of fellow bloggers suggested that we double-team this, encourage each other, hold each other accountable, and actually make 2009 the year we change our eating and fitness habits!

430&Beyond means this:  We have set a weight loss goal date of April 30.  This gives us just over 16 weeks to make things happen, do it right, and make changes that actually last and become good habits.  Beyond?  Well, this is absolutely not a diet.  I’m not denying myself my delicious Jucy Lucy adventures, occasional Papa John’s Pineapple Pizzas and happy hours. But I will make meaningful changes that will have a lasting impact in my day-to-day life. So, 4/30 is the eyes-on-the-prize goal, but we won’t stop there!

So, here we are! I’m joined by these lovely fellow bloggers who you might already know from their personal blogs and shining involvement in the 20Something Blogger community. Here are quick intros about each of us, but you can find more details on our info pages (which I may  or may not have yet to create by the time this post goes public!).

  • Me: I’m Lily. I’m a Minneapolis/Twin Cities blogger writing about all things 20-something (life, love and the pursuit of happiness?), so come visit me at LilySpeak!
  • EP: An incredible talented photog living in small town Mississippi, EP blogs regularly at Stylish Handwriting. (a separate shout-out, EP was nominated for an award in 20sb – go vote for her and the rest of your fantastic blog-friends!)
  • Sara is from Maine and joins us from My Checked Baggage, where she writes about balancing grad school, work, and a love for travel!

Thanks for stopping by! We hope you find this inspirational, informational, and above all – FUN!

Cheers to April 30!

Also, you were entirely too kind in your descriptions of us. … Just saying. 😉
